THE ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
OF CHAMPAGNOLE

Situated at the entry to the high valley of the Ain, this museum illustrates a period of history including the Roman empire and the Merovingian era. Its Gallo-Roman collections re-create the daily life of a religions centre with two temples and thriving trade and craft activity. The Merovingian collections, originating from two cemeteries of the early Middle Ages, recount the dress, religion and social life of the "last barbarians".
